There's something going on every day...

If you want to practice your Spanish, head over to the Merida English Library at 7 pm for informal Spanish/English conversation with expats and Spanish-speaking locals.

At 9 pm, the local dance called the Vaquería is performed every Monday night in front of the City Hall (Ayuntamiento) on the Plaza Grande.

If you need one, there's an English language AA meeting at Casa Catherwood at 10 am. At night, dancing under the stars to Big Band music in Parque Santiago from 8:30 pm to about 10:30 pm is the best place to be on Tuesdays!

Sometimes there is a concert at the Olimpo on Wednesdays. Look at the Yucatan Living Events for the week to find out more.

The Zoo is free in Merida, and at 4 pm, there's a concert in the park there. Later in the evening, at Santa Lucia Park, enjoy a musical serenade in the park starting at 9 pm.

The first and third Fridays of the month are for expat nights, MELLO nights and TGIF sponsored by Yucatan Trails Travel Agency. During the season, the Yucatan Symphony has concerts on Friday nights.

In the morning, Children's Story Hour at the Merida English Library starts at 10 am. Noche Mexicana brings music from other parts of Mexico to the park at the beginning of Paseo Montejo (called the Remate). The Plaza Grande is also open, full of music and dancing, with parts of Calle 60 and 62 closed to vehicular traffic. Saturday night is party night in Merida!

Merida en Domingo starts at 9 am until about 5 pm, with the Plaza Grande filled with vendors of all kinds. Shop, eat, visit, enjoy the park and the people... it's a Merida Sunday tradition!
